So far keeping up has just been telling everyone that I want to keep up! Well, I guess I should let people know what I've been doing down here in San Antonio. Here are the basics:
Coming to Trinity was the best decision for me. After being really homesick for the first week I got used to it. I was really blessed to develop a great group of friends from day one who are quickly becoming amazingly close friends. I also met Corey, who I've been dating for a year now. My social network is great and I love living on my hall this year. We're the LIving San Antonio community (LiSA) and I get to hang out with 40 of my friends and go do stuff in San Antonio. It's great fun and a wonderful place to live.
When I left high school I wanted to be an English as a Second Language teacher for junior high. That plan was quickly scrapped for a jr. high history teacher. That plan was scrapped in the spring and I am now I declared psychology major. I hope to become a school psychologist. My plan is to eventually go back to D'Evelyn and fix that place!! We'll see if that ever happens. I have been taking alot of education classes as well and am working at a junior high.
Last summer I worked at Camp Chief Ouray again. I became so disillusioned with the place. I guess it didn't help that two of my friends had to leave early and a person who I thought embodied everything camp shouldn't be won the Spirit of Camp award. But hey, I can't control the world. I think I will be in Denver this summer, maybe taking some classes, working or just going backpacking alot! I miss the outdoors!
I still miss my family alot, but it's alot more managable this year. Michael is in Oxford studying theology and will graduate in the spring. I miss him tons and tons! But I know he is learning alot and enjoying Europe. Sam is as crazy as ever. I can't believe he's already looking at colleges! I miss him alot too. Mom and Dad's plan to buy a used monastery in New Mexico fell through. I hope they stay in Colorado. I want to be able to come home to the house I grew up in!
Well I guess, that's a bit of an update. I'll try to be more personal later and maybe have some profound insight later! |
